San Diego International Airport and Phil’s BBQ recently celebrated the grand opening
of the restaurant’s newest location in Terminal 2 with an official ribbon-cutting.
In addition to tasty samples of the award-winning mesquite grilled ribs, attendees
also received the opportunity to meet the man himself: Phil Pace, owner of Phil’s
BBQ. Phil’s BBQ joins a host of new concession and retail shops that have opened
throughout the airport in the past nine months as part of the Airport Authority’s
Concessions Development Program. Once the program is completed in early 2014, 87 new shops,
restaurants and services will be open throughout the airport, representing international,
national and local concepts.
San Diego International Airport has relocated its cell phone waiting lot in order
to double the number of parking spaces. The expanded lot is located just east of the Commuter Terminal on Harbor Drive, and is
now accessible via a traffic light at Rent-a-Car Access Road.
